In Belton, MO, a father purchased a new '72 Z for his daughter's 1972 HS Graduation. Just before she was to graduate, she told him she was going to marry her boyfriend, who he did not like. He told her, no way. She said, I don't care what you say, I'm going to marry him. So, he didn't give her the car. He kept the car in a Butler building, wrapped with blankets and bungie cords. In 2005, he sold it on EBAY for $15K to a guy in NY. I saw the car and it was in perfect condition except for the hub caps which had some surface rust on them from not being covered. I'm asuming the daughter did marry the boyfriend, because she never got the car. I don't know if they are still married.
